Description

The El Presidente drill is one of the most iconic exercises in USPSA and practical shooting, developed by Jeff Cooper to test and improve multiple core skills.

The drill requires three targets placed 10 yards away, spaced about one yard apart. Starting with your back to the targets and hands raised, the sequence involves turning, drawing, firing two shots on each target, performing a reload, and then firing two more shots on each target.

The El Presidente drill is designed to build proficiency in target transitions, reload speed, and accuracy under time pressure. It’s a comprehensive exercise that challenges both new and experienced shooters, making it a staple in any training routine. Regular practice helps refine your ability to quickly and accurately engage multiple targets while managing reloads and transitions—key skills for success in USPSA and other shooting sports.
